Why Choose Soft Baby Toys with Natural Fabrics
Founders and owners Rebecca and Terence launched Miann & Co in 2011 after the birth of their second child. The motivation was to provide other families and babies with soft, skin safe products to help with everything from sensitive skin to eczema. This initial desire to provide incredible, natural, ethically made products has grown into a full passion and lifestyle brand in the form of Miann & Co, and we are so pleased to know that all of the initial points of the vision remain! Our crochet and knit pieces are handmade by a passionate team of women and are made from the comfort of their homes, allowing them flexible working conditions and more time at home for their families!
There are a ton of different fabrics and textiles available on the market and they all have their own unique properties. They also have their own sets of pros and cons, unfortunately, many of us don’t consider choosing fabrics that are good for us and the planet, because we don’t know the difference! As well as being environmentally sustainable, most natural fabrics are biodegradable, breathable, durable, moisture wicking, heat responsive and naturally repellent to mould and dirt. These natural fibres mean that chemicals are not used during the production and treatment of the fabric, which makes it better for everyone!
As with most things, the better the quality, the more you have to pay. Ensuring that our seamstresses make a good living wage, and ensuring the quality of materials we use is of the absolute highest standard means that we can’t offer Big Box Store prices, however with the durability of our products and the benefits quality offers it is comparable over the years to what you would end up spending on synthetic fabrics and pieces. In fact, in the long term, you actually end up saving money!
