If you love our brand, you'll already know we pride ourselves on making our products from cotton. From our crochet toys to our knit and woven clothing, we have always worked with 100% cotton natural fibres.
The true beginnings of our cotton use came out of a need. Our first born was born with allergies and suffered from eczema quite badly in the initial years. As a result, it had us seeking natural cotton fibre toys, which 10 years ago were nearly non existent. Most toys and baby clothing was mixed with acrylic or wool, which agitated and activated our baby boys skin further.
The use of cotton has become a pillar of our brand despite the limitations that sometimes come in design with using this fibre as a base.
Natural fibres are an investment and despite raising costs we still remain super loyal to cotton as our main fabrication.
We talk a lot about natural fibres and we want to show you why we choose to use these in our ranges every time, and some of the reasons why we believe in this magic fibre so much.
Cotton breathes - It is a yarn that is easy on the skin and the fabric allows your skin to breathe reducing the amount of sweat - we all want to avoid those sticky situations and we have all had one experience with a garment that has you sweating like no other. These garments are normally made from a synthetic fibre and should be avoided for this reason.
Cotton is comfortable to wear - Even when the skin heats up it doesn't make the fabric itchy or scratchy on the skin or have little ones complaining.
Easy to care for - All our cotton products are durable and easy to launder and should be treated like a cotton t-shirt. This is definitely why it is our fabric of choice when it comes to kids wear. Any parent will relate to the rigorous washing of clothing that must stand up with little ones and this is why cotton remains our fabrication of choice.
This season we have continued our use of cotton in our womens range. This meant having to be careful with weights to get our desired drape on many of our designs.
With increasingly busy lives, we want to simplify the laundering process and strongly believe that this is another huge benefit to cotton, along with the extended longevity of a garment with the use of this fibre.
We encourage you to trial wearing natural fibres before you invest in a whole wardrobe. It will have you noticing your fibre content labels more and more and never turning back when it comes to wearing natural breathable fibres.
