With Easter just around the corner, it's time to gather your family and bunny goodies to get ready for the ultimate Easter adventure.  Easter is a time we love to spend with our families and to go exploring. It's a great chance to escape, unwind and head to a destination you've never been before. Whether it be a four hour drive, or a day trip down the road, it's the best time to head on an adventure.  Easter is our favourite getaway both locally or internationally. One of our must see destinations at this time of the year is the gorgeous Trentham. Our kids adore Easter and are always wanting to get out and explore. Our favourite destinations have to have great food and outdoor spaces to explore. We love to be somewhere that our kids will embrace.  Our recent winter campaign was recently photographed at The Estate Trentham and we think that it ticks all the boxes for a great place to visit with the kids.  Childhood celebrations should be all about exploring the unknown. Christmas is an exciting time of the year but for some Christmas can be a really hard time. This year we have teamed up with Geelong Mums Organisation to help those in need. Geelong mums is a local organisation who recycle nursery equipment as well as clothes and other baby essentials.  We’ve created a 12 Days of Giving campaign to assist us in donations. Simply ‘adopt’ and purchase the special Miann & Co friend we've put on sale for the day, and one dollar from every sale will go towards Geelong Mums Organisation. They will be using the money to purchase material goods including nappies, wipes, clothing, etc.  As a mother and parent, I want nothing more then to give the very best to our little ones, and I know that this thought rings true for mothers everywhere. As we enter into the giving season and celebrate Christmas, we thought this was a great opportunity to give back to the mothers and families in need this season and also talk about our chosen Charity, Geelong Mums. Geelong Mums mission is to share the joy of motherhood, in partnership with support agencies by recycling baby essentials. Geelong Mums does not receive any state or federal government funding, so it is up to us to lend a hand where we can.  To read more about this amazing charity and help out click here. Our campaign starts on the first of December and everyday we will have a new friend (toy), up for adoption to go to a loving home. Every sale from our keepsake friends, which have been lovingly and ethical made by a group of artisans in Asia, will see a donation go to the Geelong Mums Organisation.  Christmas is my very favourite time of the year. The home baking, beautifully curated Christmas windows, the kids' squeals of excitement and the magical mood it creates.  Nothing makes me happier then having family and friends around to hit the pause button and really share all that is Christmas.  This year our range is all about capturing the magic of Christmas. Instead of the traditional red and greens and typical Christmas colour palette, we have created a calm and escaping palette of soft pastels.  The mood we wanted to share with this range is both magical and a slower calmer pace. Instead of the hustle and bustle and busy times that Christmas can create, we wanted to head back to soft basics and create a range of escapism and a place where simple childhood memories can be made. We hope you love our range as much as have loved creating this change of pace. We have included a few of our magical favourites - a new and softer colour way in our knitted pinafore and a calmer unisex range of body suits made from the finest cotton.   100k is worthy of a full blog post. We are incredibly grateful for each and everyone that has followed along on our small business journey. We could not be more excited and to be honest with out all of you and your ongoing support we would not have a business so thank you, thank you . This morning when we clocked over the much anticipated 100k mark there is so much to look back on and so many achievements that we are proud of and would like to hit pause and really embrace it – something we don’t do nearly enough of . We are still small and for anyone that didn’t know we are a husband and wife team with now 3 amazing full time staff and one casual staff member. We are small in numbers but big in talent and impact. We are so incredibly proud of our team they are all shakers and movers and to be honest are the nuts and bolts our business. We work with incredible freelancers that make our crazy ideas reality and we really cannot wait for the next chapters. Whilst the landscape of retail is constantly changing so are we. We have some big ideas in the pipeline and next week we cannot wait to share our 100 k milestones with each and everyone of you.   We have recently had the pleasure of working with Shanlynne, the created of @playfulmodernkids. She is a lovely, creative mother who simply adores her boys, Adonay and Adonis. Read her story below... Tell us about your Family... Well, I can tell you one thing there is never a dull moment with our little family. Adonis (my 2 year old) and Adonay (my 4 year old), are always up to something. We live a pretty simple life as a family, but when its all four of us together we make sure we have an awesome time. Also, our family is bi-culture, so it's a great mixture of two different cultures fused together. My husband is hispanic and I am filipino. Being able to share these two cultures with our kids exposes them to love and diversity, which we are all about. What has motherhood taught you? Motherhood to me is so life changing. I was growing up following the wrong path. When I was pregnant for the first time (at age 19) it was an ultimate life changer. For me, without motherhood I wouldn’t be the person I am today. Being a mother means so much to me because of the childhood I didn’t get to have. I promised myself to be the best mother I can ever be. I don’t even know who I would be if I wasn't a mother. I love being a mother more than anything ..I also get to be a teacher and a best friend to my boys, and I could never ask for more.  What are your top tips for organising a family household? Honestly, there is not much organisation for us. We are always just going with the flow and just learning from one another. Sometimes though I feel like being organised could help a bit, hahaha. But we are a pretty spontaneous family so everything is always a bit random. Favourite place to hangout as a family? During the weekend we spend most of our time going on family adventures. We don't really have a favourite place but Adonay LOVES museums, so whenever we have the chance we try to go look for some. If not that we are usually at different parks, coffee shops, or hitting up some thrift shops.  Family holidays make so many fond memories. Do you have a favourite place you visit with your family? We recently took a road trip over the summer to St. Louis, Missouri for Adonis 2nd birthday. Our trip was extremely fun. We went to museums, parks, the Arch and super yummy restaurants. But my favourite memory was our spontaneous random trip to a splash pad at a local park. We had no swimming diapers so we just let the boys go in with the clothes already on their backs. I remember the feeling and the atmosphere so vividly, we weren't in the best neighbourhood but that didn’t matter one bit. Being able to see your kids interact and play side by side with children with so much diversity is truly amazing. Its one of those moments I would probably never forget.  Walk us through a typical day with your crew... A typical day for us is so hard to describe, all I mostly remember through out the day is how many messes I had to clean up. But for most days its just chill (besides when my boys wake up at 6 am in the morning demanding me to cook haha). We like watching at least one old Disney movie on our VCR or reading vintage books.
