  Kings Cross is an area of London that we have always admired. So when we were asked if we wanted our recent campaign to be shot there, there was no question about it! We worked with one of our favourite photographers Alice from @shecriedwolf and the gorgeous model Leanne Maskell, where we sent them our style guide and product and let them explore and scout out all different locations around the area to shoot at.  Kings Cross is known for its architecture. The whole place is a mix between modern and old architecture, and there is something truly beautiful about that. It has been used in many films, including the famous Harry Potter.  As for its fashion and style, Kings Cross is known for its street style. Some would even say it's the 'center of cool.' It's a place where individuals style and fashion choices speaks casual cool. That whole effortless chic is what we're about this season, and buying quality pieces that can be mixed and matched within your wardrobe. Our shoot shows off both these highlights of Kings Cross. The architecture is prominent in our campaign shots. And as for our clothing, it fits right into the location. The way we style our garments is really important to us. We work long and hard on how we want to style our product and how we want it to look and be portrayed on the model. We aim for looks that can be replicated by our customers, looks that are actually achievable by the modern day woman.  Kings Cross bought our garments to life and we feel so privileged that we could shoot in such a cool location.   And here we are, the final drop of our womenswear for the Autumn Winter season. this drop is our chunky knitwear, perfect for pairing back with the rest of our collection and layering up in the cooler months ahead.  Featuring some chunky textured jumpers and cardigans, and two finer knit jumpers with coloured detail, all seen in our favourite colours for the season.  This campaign was shot in Kings Cross, London, where the knits really came to life. We love layering up all different textures for winter. That cosy feeling of putting on as many layers as you can really brings a sense of warmth and comfort. We love the fashion and styling in Winter. I mean layering up all different textures, colours and patterns and still being able to look stylish is a pretty cool thing.  We hope you've loved both our womens and kids ranges this season. Plus, the return of our grey and navy knit pants. Being lightweight knits, these are perfect for this time of the season.  Being shot in Kings Cross, London, our knitwear really came to life. This drop is classic knitwear that isn't trend focused, rather it's focused on being quality knitwear and will fit right into your wardrobe. These knits can be dressed up with some different textures such as leather or with a pair of heels. They are also the perfect pieces that you simply just want to chuck on when you're having a comfy day at home.   Introducing to you part one of our womens AW19 collection. This is our woven cotton side of our AW19 collection, which sees some gorgeous floral prints and stripes. Our gorgeous new shapes include dresses, skirts, pants, a shirt and two flowy tops. These are all great transseasonal pieces that can be worn and styled many different ways, including with our AW19 knitwear that will launch towards the end of February. Our campaign was shot in Kings Cross in London.   We recently took a day trip to explore our local beaches. Many of us are always in awe of overseas beaches, not realising we have this same beauty right at our door step.  We visited a secluded beach on the Great Ocean Road by the name of Johanna Beach. We were the only ones there, plus another man fishing off the sand. There's something about an empty beach that is truly amazing. It really shows off it's true beauty and enables you to breathe in the ocean air.  We ventured around in our womenswear. Being made of cotton, this was perfect for the beach day. Cotton breathes in the warmer weather, which is ideal for the summer season. The floaty dresses on the beach were stunning and gave our clothing a dreamy appeal.   Our cotton Katie pants are the ultimate pants this season and are the perfect alternative for skirts and dresses. These pants feature an exaggerated drop crotch, harem style, elastic waist and a tassel feature drawstring.  These pants are available in navy and a blue stripe, keeping in line with our blue colour palette. Our navy are made from a textured crinkle cotton, while our stripe are a flat soft cotton.  We love the navy paired with our white Lucy T-Shirt and white Matilda woven top. These look great with tan sandals and a woven bag, perfect for the morning market.  The stripe version is so cute worn back with pink, one of our favourite colours. Whether it's our pink phoebe shirt, pink laura top and pink lucy t-shirt. Gorgeous worn with rattan flats and gold fine chains.  These pants are super light and perfect for spring summer season.   We wanted to share a little bit of our behind the scenes. Miann & Co, while a super small business, we are a busy machine behind closed doors and sometimes our hard work is dismissed because we work and produce in a global community. To be exact, we work predominately out of China and have done now for nearly 7 years. To often throw away comments are thrown or spewed from a place of completely naivety... "Oh it’s just made in China. Why isn’t this product cheaper, it's made in China? We should QC every style because it’s made in China. I won't buy made in China." I am extremely proud and even lucky to work collaboratively with our suppliers in China. Lucky because our suppliers are true masters and they work with us despite our very small quantities. Yes you can produce in a global community and work with small quantities, but let me tell you the tenacity, industry knowledge and taking a collaborative approach is essential to nurture these relationships. We visit regularly to our suppliers and each time need to adapt designs to changing cotton prices, wage increases, decreasing skill set due to the younger generation not wanting to learn the crochet craft, and the increased environmental policies and procedures. Just because we produce outside Australia, doesn’t make the job any easier. In some aspects it makes it harder - the financial outlay, the trips away from your family and the growing plagiarism issues of having and producing a brand in a global community are all real struggles for a micro business like ours. We now work with a co–op of men and woman who work from home around their family and farming needs and also their own smaller family run businesses. Both of our suppliers I have known for nearly 10 years and as one of our suppliers said this year, she sees us as an extension of her family. We eat (this happens a lot on trips to china), we discuss life, kids and changing environments and manufacturing processes. It really is a collaboration and a mutual understanding and something I look forward to on a regular basis. We hand over designs that we have worked on for months in Australia and go through any unforeseen issues, different and new fabrications and new production methods. Our businesses are intertwined on every level and are a global collaboration built on hard work and mutual respect. I am going to be honest. So many times, particularly at pop up events, we have hurtful comments about our product simply because it is made in a different country. A business is automatically assumed to be paying next to nothing for a product despite China’s growing economy, be of a substandard quality despite China being masters of their craft and be of less value simply because it was made outside of our motherland. My first ever visit to a supplier was to Syria in the Middle East – a solo and very naive 21-year-old female fresh out of design school. I have since visited India, China and Vietnam producers. I am huge believer in visiting your supplier regularly and understanding a countries customs and manufacturing policies before choosing to work with any supplier. Ethical is very easily written and sometimes harder to put into practice. For me seeing is believing and so important. I guess for a long time I feel like producing in China has been a bit of a dirty word in marketing and we have therefore been a little reluctant to celebrate our makers more. Hopefully sharing this will show that creativity and quality is a global movement and despite where a product is made, doesn’t make it any less in these key qualities.    

  Ever after a cute dress that is versatile? One that you can just throw on? Introducing you to our Zoe Dress. This beautiful dress features a navvy stripe with contrast pants, elasticated back panel and gorgeous functional wooden buttons running down the front. With all this detail, it is an easy piece to throw on without much effort or thought, which let's be honest, is what we all love!  This is a great piece to wear over the Spring Summer season with a pair of tan slides or sandals. I personally wear this paired with wedges and my straw hat. It's the perfect outfit for when I'm visiting my favourite wineries or heading for lunch with friends.  As the festive season starts to approach, it's time to start thinking of outfits for all the events, and this dress is a great option. We're thinking Christmas parties, Christmas day or even New Years Eve.  Did we mention it is perfect if you've got a growing bump? With it's full skirt is a great piece to wear if you're pregnant. Plus it's a gorgeous piece you can wear after the bub has arrived.  We really do love the way you can wear this dress for many different occasions and highly recommend it for the upcoming festive season.   

  Our Lucy T-Shirt is the must have basic from our new collection. Made from the softest cotton, you won't want to take this off.  We had a focus on getting this t-shirt to be the perfect shape. Our design team researched different shapes until they finally came up with the perfect one. We all know how hard it is to find a plain basic t-shirt that fits right, so we made sure we got the shape just right.  Everyone needs a crisp white t-shirt in their wardrobe. We love this paired with our woven and knit pants, and also tucked into our skirt. For a fun summer look, we love this tied with our skirt.  Who can go past pink and grey as a colour combination? We adore the pink t-shirt paired with our grey pants and cardigan, and also with our stripe Katie pants. This is a perfect piece for when you want to add a touch of colour to your outfit.  Our Lucy T-shirt is a piece that'll always have a home in your wardrobe.   Our Sophie dress is one of my personal favourites from the collection. It's an easy piece to wear and is light and breezy, perfect for summer.  Available in our favourite stripe and navy and features front buttons. With it's high low hem line, it's bound to make a statement. Perfect for wearing over bathers at the beach or as a day to day dress. I also love this paired with wedges for a day at my favourite winery in the summer. Being such a versatile dress I know I'll definitely have this on repeat! I'll be wearing this dress all summer and I think this dress is one that most of you will love.
