As part of our Miann Mothers Series, I had the absolute pleasure in interviewing the gorgeous Gemma Peanut. Gemma is mama of her beautiful daughter, Raffa. Gemma gives us an insight into her life as a mother, including how she goes travelling with her little one, and how Raffa has changed her world. Thanks Gem x What’s the best thing about being a mum? Seeing the world through a completely different lens. The lens of a 3 month old, a 6 month, a 9 month old and so on. It’s ever changing and having the opportunity to discover the simple things in life all over again has been a dream. I also adore feeling like I have a purpose that is outside of myself. I’ve spent so much of my life focusing inwardly on myself that I’m relishing being completely selfless and just giving less f**ks about everything, because as a mum, you’ve got much more important things to focus your energy on; raising a human, a good human, in this world. What has surprised you most about being a mum? I’d say there are both positive and negative surprises. As a positive, I had no idea that I was capable of such patience! Haha. I was worried I wouldn’t have the patience required for my new gig as a mum but it turns out you do! As for the curly surprises, I’d say that there’s a definite shift in the dynamic of my marriage. It’s not a bad thing, it’s just that it’s different in that we now have to tag team EVERYTHING. I sometimes miss the simple days where we could enjoy doing things together as a couple. Simple things like going for a swim together. One of us always has to stay beach-side with Raffa. So now we realise the importance of carving out time for us and our marriage to keep us feeling connected. And even though our relationship has strengthened since having a baby, I still have pangs of missing my Hubs, so that certainly caught me off guard. How does Raffa inspire you daily? Her get up and go and zest for life. I feed off her energy (even though I feel like a corpse a lot of the time). Raffa also inspires me to be more present. She demands it from me. She lives whole heartedly in the moment. Not for the past, not for the future. She doesn’t give a crap about what she did last week or what’s ahead next week, she lives totally in the now. It’s a beautiful reminder to keep me anchored to what’s happening in the present. What are you biggest challenges of motherhood? Finding my rhythm and flow. The mum juggle/struggle is a real thing! But I’m realising that attempting to achieve balance as a working mum is impossible. Babies are ever evolving and ever changing and you will never keep up so I’m learning to adopt a more “just roll with it” attitude! How do you go travelling with a little one? I love it! I do think you have to go into travelling with a baby with the mindset that everything is going to take longer and that your luggage load will quadruple in size! But ultimately, it’s all worth the effort. There’s something so special about seeing the world through your little one’s eyes. Once you overcome the jet lag and logistics hurdle, it’s pure joy! What’s at the top of your packing list when travelling with your little one? Travel pram! Can’t live without my Baby Zen Yoyo stroller. Ours has come with us to Bangkok, London and Tokyo and is still going strong! What about being a mum did you learn from your mum? Oh gosh, oh so much! If I’m half the mother my mum is, I’d be stoked. My mum has been the most incredible influence in my life. She approached motherhood with such ease and grace. The biggest thing I’ve learnt from her is that she never sweats the small stuff. What’s your favourite meal to cook your little one? Admittedly, I’m not the cook in my family but I make a mean smashed avocado, fetta and banana mix for Raffa. It’s her absolute fave! How will you be spending this Mother’s Day? As typical to a busy mother, I haven’t really given it much thought. All I know is that I want to spend it with my mum, as well as Raffa. Three generations of women hanging out together. Perhaps we’ll head out for a nice brunch and a walk along the beach. I might even feel inclined to give Raffa her first babychino. Might be her lucky day!
I recently had the pleasure of interviewing mama to be Nicky, on her exciting next few months where she will become a mother for the first time. Plus, an insight into her style since being pregnant. Thanks Nicky x What excites you most about becoming a mum? I’m so excited to meet our little bubs after 9 months on the inside, and to find out if it’s a little boy or girl!! What is your favourite piece from our collection to wear to cater for your bump? Definitely the navy knit dress, so so comfortable! And I can dress it up and down. Has your style changed since becoming pregnant? eg. Do you buy maternity or do you just size up? I think my style has stayed the same over the winter, I’ve gone out and got a couple of pairs of maternity jeans. I don’t love many of the maternity tops around so just going up a size in my fave usual brands. I’ve loved that my Miann & Co tops from pre pregnancy have all fit over the bump. What’s your go to piece to wear while pregnant? My favourite is my grey knit singlet from Miann & Co. I wish I had one in every colour! What have you found to be your ‘must have’ when setting up your nursery? There is so much nursery inspo online, we love our mocka rocking chair! I adore Miann & Co’s large soft toys and can’t wait for my little one to meet Elfie Elephant!
Brush Stroke Baby Suit | Brush Stroke Dress | Demi Knit Singlet - Terracotta | Chloe Knit Pant - Grey We had the chance to have a chat to the gorgeous beachy mama Eleesha from @the.quinn.girls. We asked her what she loves about being a mum and how she is spending Mother's Day this year. Thanks for talking to us x We would love if you would tell us a little about your family? I’m a stay at home/work at home mama to three darling daughters Logan, Aleeia and Isla. My hubby works away for 7 days and then has 7 days off which he spends 5 of working in our business. So our household is very time together poor. We try and make every moment count. How will you be spending Mothers Day this year? Unfortunately my hubby is away on mother’s day so we will just enjoy spoiling my mama on mother’s day. What is your go to outfit for every day mum life? My go to outfit would definitely be denim shorts and shirt or flowy dress What is the best advice you were given as a first time mum? The best advice that was given was from my grandmother. She told me that no matter how you raise your children, weither you smack or do tome out, vaccinate or not, make their purée from scratch or out of a bottle... there’s only one right way to raise a baby and that’s with love. Everything else will fall into place Who do you look to for motherhood inspiration? Definitely my mama. She is always the first person I call for advice, after all she did raise one awesome kid! Name 3 things you love most about motherhood? The best thing I love about motherhood would have to be watching these little humans that you grew inside you, become these smart little people who teach you what life is really all about. What do your children do to make you laugh? Their dancing literally cracks me up. Where do they learn these moves - I swear they watch their father! We have recently had the pleasure of working with Shanlynne, the created of @playfulmodernkids. She is a lovely, creative mother who simply adores her boys, Adonay and Adonis. Read her story below... Tell us about your Family... Well, I can tell you one thing there is never a dull moment with our little family. Adonis (my 2 year old) and Adonay (my 4 year old), are always up to something. We live a pretty simple life as a family, but when its all four of us together we make sure we have an awesome time. Also, our family is bi-culture, so it's a great mixture of two different cultures fused together. My husband is hispanic and I am filipino. Being able to share these two cultures with our kids exposes them to love and diversity, which we are all about. What has motherhood taught you? Motherhood to me is so life changing. I was growing up following the wrong path. When I was pregnant for the first time (at age 19) it was an ultimate life changer. For me, without motherhood I wouldn’t be the person I am today. Being a mother means so much to me because of the childhood I didn’t get to have. I promised myself to be the best mother I can ever be. I don’t even know who I would be if I wasn't a mother. I love being a mother more than anything ..I also get to be a teacher and a best friend to my boys, and I could never ask for more. What are your top tips for organising a family household? Honestly, there is not much organisation for us. We are always just going with the flow and just learning from one another. Sometimes though I feel like being organised could help a bit, hahaha. But we are a pretty spontaneous family so everything is always a bit random. Favourite place to hangout as a family? During the weekend we spend most of our time going on family adventures. We don't really have a favourite place but Adonay LOVES museums, so whenever we have the chance we try to go look for some. If not that we are usually at different parks, coffee shops, or hitting up some thrift shops. Family holidays make so many fond memories. Do you have a favourite place you visit with your family? We recently took a road trip over the summer to St. Louis, Missouri for Adonis 2nd birthday. Our trip was extremely fun. We went to museums, parks, the Arch and super yummy restaurants. But my favourite memory was our spontaneous random trip to a splash pad at a local park. We had no swimming diapers so we just let the boys go in with the clothes already on their backs. I remember the feeling and the atmosphere so vividly, we weren't in the best neighbourhood but that didn’t matter one bit. Being able to see your kids interact and play side by side with children with so much diversity is truly amazing. Its one of those moments I would probably never forget. Walk us through a typical day with your crew... A typical day for us is so hard to describe, all I mostly remember through out the day is how many messes I had to clean up. But for most days its just chill (besides when my boys wake up at 6 am in the morning demanding me to cook haha). We like watching at least one old Disney movie on our VCR or reading vintage books. Right when my husband gets home, we are all out the door! Washable Paper Bunny Back Pack | Sailor - Pax & Hart | Natural Knit Cardigan | Dark Rabbit Mask & Tail Set
'Our moments of magic between the madness...' I recently had the pleasure of interviewing Rachael from @dearest.sisters, who gave as an insight into motherhood and her family life. We absolutely adore Rach's instagram feed and her photos are just gorgeous! Be sure to check it out, enjoy x Describe your family lifestyle in five words... Homebodies are the best bodies What is something your kids have taught you? There is nothing stronger or more powerful than a mothers love, it's even made me appreciate the love my mother has for me a lot more. Where's your favourite family hangout? Our favourite hangout would have to be my bed :) we snuggle in there every morning and every night, or our backyard watching 'the birdies' with Lailah! Where's your favourite family travel spot? We definitely do not travel haha Lailah pretty much has a break down after being in the car longer than 20 minutes so I can only imagine a plane trip. Maybe when she can leave to express herself without screaming and throwing every object in site haha Zaylee seems much more chilled than Lailah ever was so there's some hope there. What's your favourite thing to do when you have time to yourself? What is time to myself ;) I would sadly have to say scrolling back through photos and videos of the girls and admiring all their quirky features. Give us three parenting tips... Three tips.....never try to reason with a toddler having a tantrum, if you're trying to save money don't go on Instagram ;) and always make time to read to your little one, once they start they enjoy it much more than iPads and tv! What's your favourite meal to cook that your kids love? Creamy vegetable fettuccini, I'm a vegetarian and Lailah rarely eats meat by choice! Zaylee's fave would have to be breast milk haha What's your tips and tricks to that perfect instagram photo? Never expect to get the perfect photo and somehow it just happens.......that and lighting! Natural light is key. And finally, what's the best thing about being a mum? That's a hard one, I would have to say it's holding them close and knowing that you'll always love one another unconditionally.
Where would we be without our mums? They make the best food and give the best hugs! Mothers Day is the day to thank our mums for all they do. Here is a little bit of an insight into our mums and how we'll be spending Mothers Day. Let us know in the comments how you plan to spend Mothers Day spoiling your Mum. Enjoy x Terry My mum makes the best Lemon Meringue! And Pancakes... And Chocolate Cake. My favourite thing to do with mum is to watch her paint. There is something soothing about watching a blank canvas transform slowly into a work of art. To spoil mum on Mothers Day I will phone her! She is a bit far away in South Africa, so we Skype and get the kids involved as well! Rebecca My mum makes the best Sunday roast and ginger fluff sponge, a family recipe. My favourite thing to do with my mum is to have a day out to catch up on what's going on in our lives at the time! To spoil mum on Mothers Day I will catch up with her for a Sunday lunch. We usually meet half way between all the siblings. It's always nice to catch up over good food and family banter. Demi My mum makes the best Cheese Platters. She fills them with delicious fresh produce and all my favourites! My favourite thing to do with mum is go to our favourites local wineries with friends and family for a beautiful afternoon. It always seems to appear hot out of the oven in perfect time for when the kettle whistles. My favourite thing to do with mum is laugh! She has a wonderfully broad sense of humour, and her laugh is very contagious! To spoil mum on Mothers Day I will take her for a day in Melbourne filled with adventures and a visit to the Queen Victoria Market! Tom My mum makes the best Sunday Roast. Whether it be Lamb, Beef, Chicken or Pork, I'm sure to leave my parents house stuffed full on a Sunday afternoon. My favourite thing to do with mum is walk the family dogs around Lake Wendouree, which gives us the chance to catch up with each other and while getting some exercise in. To spoil mum on Mothers Day I will head back home to Ballarat the day before, making sure to spend as much time as possible with her and the family, helping out around the garden and veggie patch, whilst letting her have a relaxing and enjoyable Sunday. Sarah My mum makes the best desserts, especially caramel or peppermint slice! My favourite thing to do with mum is anything crafty, she loves creating things and I love to help. To spoil mum on mothers day I will do whatever she wants to do that day. Take her for breakfast or lunch and spend the day with her. SHOP THE EDIT // 1. DELILAH WALLET SNOW CHEETAH | 2. This month is all about our mummas! We would like to share an insight into the life of an Insta Mum; Lauren Leeds or known as @lozleeds She is local to us and we absolutely adore what she does! Read below to see all the insider tips on motherhood, family life and everything in between. About the girls I am super blessed to be the mama of two gorgeous little munchkins. Savannah is 3 going on 13 and Clementine (Clemmie) has just turned 1. They are both super fun little ones with very different personalities. This past year since Clemmie has joined our family, I have really noticed how different they are! Savannah definitely keeps us on our toes as she begins to assert her independence and wants to live her life as a “big girl.” Her silly, cheeky personality has us giggling all day and she still gives the best cuddles (much to this mamas delight!). Clemmie is our quiet, gentle little soul. She’s an awesome sleeper, an awesome eater and just all around awesome little person. As all little sisters do, she basically spends her day following around Savannah and much to her delight, playing with her toys too. They balance each other out perfectly and watching their relationship blossom has been so special. Motherhood When people would ask me what I wanted to do with my life, my response was always that I wanted to be a mum. Sure, I had other goals and ambitions for my life but ultimately that was my greatest desire. I was so excited to become a mum and grow our family but as with anything you do for the first time, there’s a major learning curve and you quickly realise not every moment is sunshine and rainbows. Since becoming a mum I have realised that motherhood encompasses a love that is endless, selfless and unconditional. Its unwashed hair, pureed vegies all over your top and sleepless nights, its hard work! And still, I wouldn’t change it for anything. I have the privilege of raising these tiny humans to become the best versions of themselves. It’s my goal as their mum to keep their childhood magical while also instilling in them the important skills and values they need to guide them in life. Something my kids have taught me One of the biggest things my girls have taught me is to see the wonder and magic in life’s simplest things. As mums, I think it’s natural for us to become consumed with our daily routines and making sure things run smoothly for everyone. Whether it’s getting everyone dressed, fed and out the door on time in the morning, or juggling five appointments, the grocery shopping and swimming lessons. It’s easy to just keep your head down and get through the day. It’s in those moments when I’m stressing out and trying to recall the long list of jobs that I have for the day that Savannah will point out a dragonfly out the window, or Clemmie will tug on my sleeve and hold up a book. It’s in those moments that I realise that these little people notice and see things that I so often overlook. The world is new, exciting and fun in their eyes and they want their mama to explore it with them. The washing can wait, the dishes will get done and take-out was invented for a reason. They are only little once and I don’t want to miss out on seeing the magic of a butterfly, the beautiful colours and patterns on a leaf, or the joy of jumping in a muddy puddle. Favourite family hangout Honestly, our favourite family hangout is at home. My hubby works long hours and often weekends, so when he has a long stretch of time with us, we usually just hang at home. Home is where the girls love to be the most, so often we will be curled up in our PJ’s, watching Disney movies and making forts. Favourite family travel spot in Australia We LOVE Byron Bay and go every year. Usually when my hubby finishes work for the year, we escape to Byron for a couple of weeks and just chill out. We love the laid-back nature and relaxing vibe of Byron, and the heat isn’t bad either when you come from Geelong and feel like you live in everlasting winter lol. We also love the café culture, the amazing beaches and the shopping. There is something to do for everyone and we always leave feeling refreshed, its awesome. Favourite place to escape winter Our family are big fans of Fiji. It’s true what they say about “Fiji time” and if you want to escape to one of the friendliest, most relaxed cultures, then this is the place for you. The Fijian people are so beautiful and accommodating and love children. Easter with the girls Easter long weekend was a big one for us as it was also Savannahs birthday on the Saturday, so it was one big celebration! Fun fact: I am originally from the States and as is American custom, every holiday is done larger than life! Easter is no exception and was so excited to celebrate with the girls this year. The day was pretty much going to church, having lunch with family, Easter baskets and an Easter egg hunt (most for Savannah as I am still a sugar scrooge when it comes to Clemmie loI). Finding little things for their Easter baskets has been super fun…I found little Easter Bunny bubble sticks the other day! I think I got more excited than they do… Favourite thing I like to do on my own I’m really passionate about photography and have been teaching myself over the past year and loving it! I have so much more to learn but I love having a hobby of my own which can also incorporate my girls. I started exploring photography because of them and it’s been fun to document their days. So quite often when I’m on my own you’ll find me sitting in my dark study, crouched over the computer editing for hours! I find it really therapeutic and creative to edit as I try to find a story behind each photograph. However, when I’m not doing that, I do love a pamper sesh to feel refreshed and rejuvenated! Parenting tips Remember in the hardest of times that the tantrums will pass, the guilt will fade, and it’s ok not to be perfect! Cherish the great days and try to shrug off the bad days as just that, a bad day – that’s all! You are doing a great job! Inspiration I think a lot of my interior inspiration comes from Instagram and I really love handmade. There is something so unique and special about owning handmade pieces, each one tells a story! It is through this tiny app that I’ve made connections and formed relationships with some incredible people from all over the world. I love being able to log on and see an amazing space created by a blogger in Sweden, then scroll down to see how a mum in Melbourne has used unique wallpaper in her daughters room makeover, and the list goes on. Instagram has given me the ability to access all of these small businesses that I would have never known were out there otherwise. Celebrating in Style I do love a bit of entertaining and find party planning super fun. I decided early on that I would do a big 1st birthday for each of the girls. Not only did I want to celebrate the milestone of getting through the first year, I also really wanted to make it a special time to remember. I chose a theme for each of the girl’s birthdays and went to work! For Savannah she had a bunny party and Clemmie just had a floral/garden themed birthday. I find lots of inspiration on Pinterest based on what I’m looking for and there are some great groups on Facebook specifically for parties that have every theme you can imagine (check out Party Mums). I also try and make some of my decorations, there are some great tutorials out there and I promise you they don’t all turn out as Pinterest fails! I find this not only adds something special to the day, but also can be reused in the girl’s rooms after the party. For example, I recently made some floral wreaths to hang over the dessert table at Clemmies party and now I am thinking of incorporating them into her room. Be creative and think outside of the box, you may surprise yourself at what you can create! All time favourite children’s books I am always drawn to beautiful illustrations but also books that have a purpose to the story. Books that get children to think and empathize, but most importantly also books that can result in a belly laugh. Some of her current favourites include Where is the Green Sheep, Guess how much I love you and Ruby Red Shoes. SHOP THE EDIT // 1. GREY KNIT DRESS | 2. FRANKIE FAIRY | 3. PINK KNIT BEANIE | 4. The name of your store and where you are located. We’re Store of Daydreams, an unique kids boutique, located in Laren (NH) The Netherlands (Europe). We do also have an online shop : www.storeofdaydreams.com. We have customers from all over the world, from Australia and Asia to the USA and everything in between. Tell us about your background and how the idea of your retail store came about I was working as a fashion designer in New York City but in 2012 we moved back to The Netherlands. While applying for jobs I started a small webstore with unique kids fashion moreas a 'joke' but it became serious business very quick. And now after a small we even have opened a real retail store which is a dream coming to live. While working for Stella McCartney and Beyond Vintage during my time in NY I became aware of unique, sometimes small, fashion brands. I'm always hunting for these new upcoming and hard to find labels such as La De Dah Kids. We are even the only retailer in The Netherlands selling this brand for which we are very proud of! Where do you look for inspiration? We’re visiting fairs like Playtime Paris and Ciff Copenhagen to see new trends but before attending these shows we already know what’s new or on trend. Every year I give a trend reading and workshop at my old university. This keep me uptodate on the latest trends, watching Instagram, Pinterest and several blogs are important online channels to get inspiration. Also Milk Magazine is one of my favourites! What are some of your favourite items in store and why? We’re always in love with our brands as we only buy what we love ourselves. Brands like La De Dah Kids, Tiny Cottons, BangBang Copenhangen, Mini Rodini, Louise Misha.. uh.. so almost everything :) We are totally in love with the mint coloured Unicorn and the panda cushion has become one of favourites as well! What is your favourite thing to do when you aren’t at the shop? Even when I'm physically not in the shop, my mind is there ;) Always busy with looking at orders or social media which is on 24/7. But when I do find some time for myself I love to visit one of the Dutch Islands, Texel. Which is a perfect place to relax, hike in the forest, walking on the beautifull sandy beaches and just do nothing. You'll probably see me posting a picture of it on Instagram when I'm there. Do you have a favourite country to visit in Europe and why? Yes we love Sweden and Denmark. These countries have the most beautiful nature and friendly locals. We do love the food in Italy and France but we love the country side of Sweden and Denmark. Also Stockholm and Copenhagen are two capitals that you have to visit once in your lifetime. We’re going there very often because we just love love love Scandinavia. Also The Netherlands is very pretty and beautiful but we’re a very small country to visit. Amsterdam is quite cool, we have a very nice old city center and we love the people, food and style but we prefer Scandinavia! Do you have any travel tips for travelling within Europe? Ow yes we do ! We love a couple of countries so you can make a round-trip. When you book a flight to Copenhagen (2-3 days) you can rent a car and drive in 7 hours from Copenhagen to Amsterdam (2-3 days). You have to visit the city center, visit the Anne Frank House, Stedelijk Museum, do a cancel tour by boat, visit the 9 streets for shopping and unique shops and you have to visit the Old Amsterdam Cheese Store. These stores are from Sander (my lovely boyfriend) and his brother and father. Store of Daydreams is located in Laren, that’s just 25 minutes from Amsterdam. After Amsterdam you have to visit Antwerp (1 day) / Brussels (1 day). After Belgium you can take the car again because Paris is just 2/3 hours left. Go to Paris for 3 days and visit the beautiful city and go with kids to Disneyland Paris as well. Also other cities are very pretty like : St.Tropez, Nice, Montpellier in France. Milan, Rome and Venice in Italy. But also the Alps are very very nice to see during the winter and spring. We love love love Scandinavia so nice places to visit is Sweden are : Stockholm, Malmö, Göteborg but also the northern part is so beautiful and quiet. In Denmark you have to visit Copenhagen and we love the beach around Odense. In Norway you have to visit Sognefjord and the Hardangervidda. Those the national parks are sooo beautiful. We are lovers of food at La De Dah Kids, so what are some of your favourite local cuisines’? Hahaha, the Dutch cuisine is not that special but when you go to Amsterdam you have to eat the Dutch pancakes. I prefer the one with apple and cinnamon. A nice snack and typical Dutch are French fries with mayonnaise and a handmade beef croquette. We love them :P! These 2 things are not healthy but so jummie! Also you have to try the Dutch cheeses, in our family-owned cheese stores you will find different kinds of cheese like our famous family brands : Old Amsterdam and Maaslander cheese. Typical Dutch food is also potatoes with veggies and meat or fish. But what you see in Europe is that we all eat a lot of different types of food, like Spanish, Italian etc. But Store of Daydreams love love love the italian food. Home made pizza and pasta are the best! Tell us about your typical day. We start each day with a cup of tea and a nice breakfast in our shop! This is always a nice start of the day. Before opening the store we print all the online orders, pick all the items in store and pack everything nicely. We have customers from all over the country so they’re always visiting us. We opened our store just 3 months ago so we’re brand new and sometimes also unknown for the local people. We do love our customers! We love to bring them a big big smile on there faces and each time when they are visiting our store we would love to show them our new items. I feel privileged that we have customers visiting us who are taking the time to visit us and come from north to south. Even people from Belgium and famous local celebrities! So our store is also our office, showroom, everything. Now we’re planning our visits to Playtime Paris and Ciff Copenhagen. We’re checking all the new brands to see if it will fit in our store and if it’s nice to buy…We have to answer also a lot of e-mails from all over the world about requests and orders so it’s always nice to get and see these lovely emails. And off course instagram is one of our to do’s each day ;)...
Hi there, we are Kiwi & Koala (www.kiwienkoala.nl) a beautiful web shop in The Netherlands selling just Australian and New-Zealand brands. The woman behind Kiwi & Koala is Suzanne, she has been lucky enough to visit Australia twice in the past few years. Her sister, Linda, lives in Australia with her family and gives Suzanne tips on the best new trends and hot brands Down Under. After many late night discussions, following lengthy shopping expeditions around Australia, Suzanne decided the time was right to bring design from Down Under to the Netherlands. The realisation of Kiwi & Koala started with Bonnie Bonny. Ladedah Kids was the obvious brand to bring to the Netherlands. Each softie has such character and originality and the quality is fabulous. We get inspiration from everywhere. We follow the trends in Australia, in New Zealand and in the Netherlands through Instagram, Pinterest and blogs and magazines. We both are really attracted to lightness and brightness and to nature. The design and colours of the web shop reflect this – abstract eucalyptus leaves, and splashes of colour. It is hard to choose a favourite item – I clearly love them all. If I have to choose, Bonnie Bunny and Amanda Panda are amongst our favourite items as well as wire ware baskets from DownToTheWoods and ear studs form Nanna Woo. Of course market research is a necessity and sometimes shipping costs mean we sometimes have to decide not to select an item for the shop … these are the difficult decisions. There are lots of things we love doing besides managing the web shop, and a regular day job. Suzanne has a young and growing family … yes a third baby is expected in January ... which keeps her very busy. Shopping, reading, gardening, going out for dinner, cooking are other favourite activities. There are a lots of European countries and lovely cities that are worth visiting. Most favourite are the Norwegian and Dutch countryside, Antwerp, Berlin, Stockholm, London, Paris, Reykjavik and Barcelona. Travel tips are the fjords in Norway, Pippi Longstocking’s house, shopping in Antwerp, the Blue Lagoon in Reykjavik for relaxation, the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona, London for the museums, Berlin to ride a bike and learn about its history (and the Zoo!), Paris to visit the Sacre Coeur and have tasty romantic dinners. And of course, The Netherlands for all kinds of activities with the kids: Artis Zoo in Amsterdam is our all time favourite. Whilst we love our food, the Dutch are not particularly well known for our cuisine. My 4 and 3 year-old daughters can't get enough of baking cookies and cupcakes. A typical day … mmmmm … crazy mainly. Taking the kids to school, work all day, picking the kids up, sending orders, talking to bloggers, checking social media for news and inspiration. And then putting my feet up with a cup of green tea, rubbing my growing baby bump.
